Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Cairo

Upon arrival in Cairo airport, our representative will meet & assist you with Melia Travel Egypt sign. Transfer in private air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 2: Pyramids & Grand Egyptian Museum

Breakfast. Begin your day visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the largest archaeological museum in the world with an extraordinary collection of ancient Egyptian treasures including the full treasures of Tutankhamun.
Then continue to the Giza Plateau to visit the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, Mykerinus, and the Great Sphinx with the Valley Temple. Return to hotel. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 3: Sakkara & Memphis Tour

Breakfast. Our guide will pick you up from your hotel.

Move to visit the Step Pyramids of Zoser, the world’s oldest major stone structure. It was built in the 3rd Dynasty (around 2630 BC) for King Djoser. After that transfer to Memphis which was founded by King Menes, and was the capital of Old Egypt during the Old Kingdom, it was considered to be a center of rule and culture for over 3000 years the first capital of Egypt, and see the Statue of Ramses II. Back to the hotel. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 4: Cairo – Nile Cruise – East Bank Tour

Breakfast. Transfer to the domestic airport. Departure by the plane to Luxor.

Start your tour visiting The Temple of Karnak & the Temple of Luxor. Excursion to the Luxor Temple to see its courtyard and the granite statues of Ramses the Great. Proceed to Karnak. Transfer to the Nile Cruise. Boarding before Lunch. Lunch on board.
Overnight in Luxor.

Day 5: Nile Cruise – West Bank Tour

Breakfast on board. Cross to the West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon.
Excursion to the Necropolis of Thebes, on the Western bank. Crossing the Nile, drive to the Valley of Kings; visit the tombs of various Dynasties, The Temple of Deir El Bahari.
On the return journey stop at the Colossi of Memnon which are two gigantic sitting statues representing Amenopis III facing the Nile then visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Lunch on board. Afternoon free at leisure. Afternoon Tea. Overnight in Luxor.

Day 6 - Nile Cruise - Edfu & Kom Ombo

Breakfast on board. Visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu. Sail to Kom Ombo. Lunch on board. Visit the Temple shared by the two Gods Sobek & Haroeris in Kom Ombo. Afternoon Tea. Overnight in Kom Ombo.

Day 7 - Nile Cruise – Aswan

Breakfast on board. Sail to Aswan. Start you tour visiting: The High Dam which was completed in 1964. From here you can gaze across Lake Nasser.
The Philae temple Sail by felucca (Egyptian sailboat) to the island of Agilkia. Visit the temple that was removed from their original island of Philae which lies submerged most of the year by the waters of Lake Nasser. The main Temple of Isis and its monuments were built between the 26th-dynasty and the Roman period. Overnight in Aswan.

Day 8 - Aswan – Cairo

Breakfast on board. Disembarkation.

(Optional) Abu Simbel Trip.
Departure to visit the Temple of Abu Simbel, The colossal Temple of Abu Simbel built by Ramses II (XIXth. Dynasty) and lately saved from inundation of the Nile waters in among the glories of ancient Egyptian monuments.
The temples were built out of a sandstone rock cliff, and representation of the deities to which each was dedicated is carved on its huge façade. Nearby, also saved, lies the small Temple of the King’s wife Nefertari, dedicated to the goddess Hathor. Back to Aswan.

Transfer to Aswan airport and departure by plane to Cairo. Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 9 - Alexandria

Our Melia Travel Egypt tour guide will pick you up from your hotel to start your full-day highlights of Alexandria. Begin with a visit to the famous Bibliotheca Alexandrina — one of the largest cultural libraries in the world. Enjoy the open courtyard with statues of Alexander the Great and Ptolemy I, and take memorable photos. (Note: Reading hall ticket is optional upon request)

Continue to the Roman Amphitheater and see the display of sunken monuments discovered underwater in Alexandria’s East Harbor. Afterwards, visit St. Mark Church (the oldest church in Africa) and explore the traditional historical downtown areas, local markets, sweets shops and stunning European-style architecture.

Visit Al Nabi Daniel Mosque, believed by many to be connected to Alexander the Great, and then continue towards the historic Mansheya markets including the famous women’s bazaar and gold market.

See the beautiful Abbo Elabbas Mosque and the antique funfair beside it, then enjoy a photo stop by the Corniche overlooking the fishing harbor. Continue to the exterior of the Citadel of Qaitbay built on the site of the ancient Lighthouse — one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Drive to Montaza Gardens, enjoy coastal views along the way, optional fresh juice stop, then explore the Royal gardens of King Farouk and the Royal palaces with the famous Montaza bridge and Tea Palace Island.

Day 10 - Cairo Free Day

Breakfast. Transfer to Cairo by an air-conditioned vehicle.

(Optional Tour) Start your tour visiting the Citadel of Salah El Din which was constructed by Salah El Din on the Moqattam hills in 1183 AD to defend Cairo from the armies of Crusaders. After that visit Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque which was designed by the architect Yousif Boushnaq, a Turkish man who came specially from Istanbul and built this great mosque for Mohamed Ali, the ruler of Egypt (1805-1849) who ruled Over 45 years.
After that you will move to Old Coptic Cairo to visit the Hanging Church, Abu Sirga Church and Synagogue.
Finally move to your hotel.
Overnight in Cairo.

Day 11 - Departure

Breakfast at the hotel our representative will transfer you to the airport and assist you at the airport through final departure formalities.
